America Online agreement with VR-1

America Online agreement with VR-1 hit the wire on October 7, 1998. America Online signed a multi-title distribution agreement with Boulder, CO-based VR-1, the world's largest developer of online-only games. Analysts predict that online gaming will become a billlion-dollar industry by 2002, and the AOL/VR-1 agreement will help advance the industry by providing online gamers with three new "massively multiplayer," pay-to-play games in 1999.

AOL has the option to license up to four additional VR-1 titles.
