Barracuda Buys Worldwide Rights to Titanic: Adventure Out of Time
Barracuda acquired worldwide rights to CyberFlix's Titanic: Adventure Out of Time, which has sold nearly a million copies and was 1998's sixth best-selling PC game.
Barracuda has picked up the worldwide rights to Titanic: Adventure Out of Time, the CyberFlix adventure that has quietly sold nearly a million copies since its 1996 debut. Quietly might be the wrong word: it was the sixth best-selling PC game of 1998, climbing as high as #2 and outselling Riven, Unreal, Quake 2, Age of Empires, Cabela’s Big Game Hunter, and Frogger. Yes, that movie did some heavy lifting, but numbers are numbers.
The existing arrangements stay in place. Havas Interactive (the company formerly known as Cendant Software) keeps publishing and distributing the game in North America for Hammerhead Entertainment, Barracuda’s publishing division, while Infogrames handles Europe and Europress covers the UK, both deals Barracuda originally brokered for CyberFlix. ValuSoft continues worldwide distribution of Titanic: The Lost Mission, and Brady Publishing stays on the official strategy guide.
