Battle.net Biggest Weekend

Blizzard Entertainment’s free online game service Battle.net, over the weekend experienced its highest usage figures. Nearly 500,000 games of Brood War were played from Friday to Sunday as players tried to rack up the necessary 10 open play wins to be eligible to compete in the tournament’s regular season. More than 38,000 players have met the criteria to participate in the Season 1 competition. Blizzard is providing more than $20,000 in cash and prizes to recognize the world’s top players.
