Battlefield 3's first DLC, Back to Karkand, rebuilds four classic Battlefield 2 maps on Frostbite 2, with returning BF2 vehicles, weapons and a new mode.

If you haven’t checked out Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand, the shooter’s first DLC, a new set of screenshots makes the pitch. The pack rebuilds four of Battlefield 2’s most popular maps on the Frostbite 2 engine and brings back BF2 staples: three returning vehicles plus one new, ten weapons, five dogtags, and a heavier dose of destruction.

There’s also a Conquest Assault mode with up to seven control points and one team holding everything at the start, plus assignment challenges that unlock new gear. For BF2 veterans, it’s a nostalgia play with modern tech under it.
