Classic Asteroids Released is the kind of release that keeps old games breathing a little longer, and that matters.

The important bit: Activision has just released a version of Classic Asteroids for Windows 95/98. Also Asteroids 3D is the revolutionary, new 3-D space shooter and ever-more addictive remake of the 1980s arcade blockbuster. It melds the classic fire-shield-thrust style of gameplay and nostalgic sound effects with vast new hyperspace 3-D worlds, explosive effects, cinematic cut-scenes, plus more enemies, weapons and modes of gameplay.

Old code, old engines, and old tools do not stay useful by accident. Somebody has to keep pushing them forward.
