Close Combat III Designer Notes

The important bit: Microsoft announced the official Web site for Close Combat III: The Russian Front now features a new Designer Notes section from Atomic Games, the game's developer, as well as over 30 new screenshots.

Close Combat III Designer Notes is the news today, and for late 1998 PC players that usually means one thing: another download, patch, demo, date, or box hitting shelves.

The important bit: Microsoft announced the official Web site for Close Combat III: The Russian Front now features a new Designer Notes section from Atomic Games, the game’s developer, as well as over 30 new screenshots. Close Combat III puts players in command of a fire brigade of soldiers on the Eastern Front, spanning the 1941 invasion of the Soviet Union through the gates of Moscow, the factory complex of Stalingrad, and to the 1945 fall of Berlin. The new Designer Notes section features a map creation article by Jeffrey Baker, the art lead for Atomic Games, and “Soldier, Squad, Vehicle and General Game System AI” notes by John Anderson, the lead AI/game system designer for Atomic Games.

That is the kind of practical news that actually helps. Either grab it, patch it, or mark the date before the next flood of downloads buries it.
