Codemasters to manage The Realm is today’s update from the October 1999 desk, and there is enough here to make retro PC players pay attention.

The useful part: Codemasters, a UK-based leading European developer and publisher of computer and video games, recently announced establishment of its first USA-based development studio and the acquisition of certain assets previously owned by Sierra On-Line and Havas Interactive, of which The Realm is one. As Codemasters’ US operation ramps up its activities, the process of coordinating the transfer of “The Realm” is already underway. The transition actually brings the game back to the location where it was originally developed and launched in late 1996 – in Oakhurst. File it under the usual 1999 PC pile: interesting, crowded, and probably fighting five other releases for attention.
