The useful part: Before the game’s August 27 on sale date, retailers around the world had ordered more than 1.5 million copies of the game, making it one of the biggest launches in computer game history and the biggest PC game launch for Electronics Arts. Already more than 1 million copies have sold through worldwide. Worldwide sell-in for the game now stands at more than 2 million. The game debuted in the number one and number two slots on PC Data’s entertainment software sales chart. File it under the usual 1999 PC pile: interesting, crowded, and probably fighting five other releases for attention.
