Creative Announces Support of SDMI

Creative Technology has the latest July 1999 move: Creative Announces Support of SDMI. Creative Technology says its intention to support the Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI) open standard in future versions of its highly-anticipated Creative NOMAD line of portable digital audio players. The specification, adopted in draft by SDMI at its June 23 – 25 meeting, underwent a final editorial review and was adopted at a meeting in Los Angeles on July 7-8. SDMI’s members include more than 110 representatives of the music, consumer electronics and information technology industries.
