Descent 3 Multiplayer Lands Exclusively on HEAT.NET
Descent 3 is now available exclusively on HEAT.NET through the free online gaming service's licensing deal with Interplay.
HEAT.NET is now the exclusive online home of Descent 3, a game near the top of this year’s multiplayer wish lists, under the service’s licensing deal with Interplay. The relationship is not new: HEAT.NET backed the Descent 3 demo and had a hand in hosting Interplay’s $50,000 tournament, so the full game landing there was the logical next step.
For anyone who slept through the first two games, Descent 3 keeps the series’ trademark tunnel-crawling dogfights inside the mines, then lets you fly out of them entirely and into open planetary skies, trading fire with enemy air and ground forces along the way. Ten new weapons handle the robot demolition. Locking a game this big to a single service will rub some players wrong, but HEAT.NET is free to play on, and this just made it a lot harder to ignore.
