Reported by AGN 3D that Microsoft has has released DirectX 6 to end users for Win95 users only. DirectX 6.0 has alot new features which include single-pass multitexturing, bump mapping, texture compression, stencil buffers, and much more.

Plus performance improvements in Direct3D, DirectDraw and DirectSound.

Now the only real question is whether it earns shelf space, because PC gamers are getting buried in boxes this year.
