DirectX 7 Goes Gold

DirectX 7 Goes Gold: According to ActiveWindows, they have confirmation that Microsoft's DirectX 7 has gone Gold internally and is to be released to beta testers soon.

DirectX 7 Goes Gold puts another piece of PC gear into the September hardware pile, and 1999 is not exactly short on that right now.

According to ActiveWindows, they have confirmation that Microsoft’s DirectX 7 has gone Gold internally and is to be released to beta testers soon. At the moment though they do not have a confirmed public release date, but it will be released to the public before the end of the month. The final version number is 4.07.00.0700.

The hardware race is getting mean, and the upside is simple: gamers keep getting faster, stranger toys to bolt into their rigs.
