Here is another piece of the September 1998 PC gaming mess. Electronic Arts, the world’s largest interactive entertainment software company, announced it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Westwood Studios, and the Irvine, Calif.-based Virgin Studio from Virgin Interactive Entertainment Inc., a division of Spelling Entertainment Group Inc. The cash transaction is valued at $122.5 million.
It may not be the biggest story of the month, but EA Acquired Westwood and Virgin Studio is exactly the sort of thing PC players are tracking right now.
