July 1998 keeps moving, and today the headline is simple: EA acquires ABC Software. Electronic Arts the world’s largest interactive entertainment software company, announced the acquisition of ABC Software AG, an independent distributor of entertainment, edutainment and application software in Switzerland and Austria, headquartered in Sevelen, Switzerland.

ABC becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Electronic Arts (EA) and will continue to provide the Swiss and Austrian markets with products from EA and other leading independent software publishers. For PC players watching every demo, patch, driver and announcement right now, this is one more thing to keep on the board.
