Infogrames to acquire Accolade is moving on the business side today, because apparently the games industry cannot go five minutes without someone buying, signing, or reorganizing something. Infogrames Entertainment, Europe’s leading developer, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment, today revealed a major advance into the North American video game market through two strategic moves. Infogrames will acquire US video game publisher and developer Accolade, thereby integrating Accolade’s successful video game development program. Details of the cash transaction were not disclosed. Infogrames has signed a deal to acquire Accolade, a leading privately-owned California-based publisher and developer of video games for the console and multimedia computer markets.

It may not be the same thrill as a fresh demo, but this stuff shapes what actually reaches players. Boring paperwork today can turn into games on shelves tomorrow.
