Intel introduces New Microprocessors And Chipset puts another piece of PC gear into the September hardware pile, and 1999 is not exactly short on that right now.

Intel Corporation today introduced two new microprocessors and a chipset targeted at the mainstream performance segment of the personal computer market. With this introduction, Intel adds two Pentium III processors at 600 MHz and 533 MHz, each supporting the new, higher performance 133 MHz system bus. The new chipset, the Intel 810E, brings new features and capabilities to the computer user, including the faster system bus.

The hardware race is getting mean, and the upside is simple: gamers keep getting faster, stranger toys to bolt into their rigs.
