Interplay announces 14° East hits the March 1999 news desk on March 9, 1999. Interplay Entertainment revealed the creation of their new strategy division, 14° East.

The new division has brought together a remarkable team of producers, designers, artists and technical engineers dedicated to creating strategy games. This select group of hard-core gamers turned game makers will continue to be on the cutting edge when it comes to design and execution of every product put out by 14° East.In addition to the Star Trek license, 14° East is currently developing other strategy games including: Tantics, Chess 99, Sklansky's Table Poker. It is not the loudest kind of gaming news, but the business and community machinery matters. Games do not appear out of thin air.
