Leadtek Signs On to Build TNT2 and Vanta Boards With NVIDIA
Leadtek will build graphics cards on NVIDIA chips, including four WinFast boards spanning the RIVA TNT2 down to the budget Vanta.
NVIDIA has added Leadtek Research to its stable of board partners. The two announced an alliance today that has Leadtek designing and selling graphics accelerators built on NVIDIA chips, from the RIVA TNT2 at the top of the line down to budget parts.
Four boards are coming out of the deal. The WinFast 3D S320II Ultra and WinFast 3D 320II both carry the TNT2 and run at speeds up to 185 MHz, aimed at the mainstream market and checked off against Microsoft’s PC99 and DirectX 6 requirements. The WinFast 320V is a second-generation 128-bit board built on NVIDIA’s Vanta chip for buyers watching their wallets, and the WinFast 3D S325 rounds out the line with a 64-bit version of the TNT2.
If it feels like every board maker on the planet is lining up behind the TNT2 right now, that’s because they are. More TNT2 boards on the shelf should mean better prices for the rest of us.
