LithTech Engine Tools and Shogo Source Code Released

Monolith Productions today announced the impending Internet release of their acclaimed LithTech engine development tools and the source code from their hit first-person shooter Shogo : Mobile Armor Division.

LithTech Engine Tools and Shogo Source Code Released is the story on November 25, 1998, and it is one of those late-1998 PC gaming updates that says exactly where the scene is right now. Monolith Productions today announced the impending Internet release of their acclaimed LithTech engine development tools and the source code from their hit first-person shooter Shogo : Mobile Armor Division. Posted today on the game’s official web site, this comprehensive tool set will allow gamers and amateur game designers to use the same tools as the pros, to modify many aspects of the games created using the LithTech engine.

Armed with these resources, gamers can design their own level maps, edit in-game models, and more. In addition, users can swap models, levels and textures between Shogo, and Blood 2 : The Chosen, the recently released supernatural first-person shooter developed by Monolith using the LithTech engine and published by GT Interactive. However, Blood 2 source code will not be released until later. Any time old code or tools get into players' hands, the scene gets a little harder to kill.
