Logitech Supports Linux Game Controller Drivers

Logitech today revealed the availability of Linux drivers for all of its digital game port products.

Logitech Supports Linux Game Controller Drivers is moving on the business side today, because apparently the games industry cannot go five minutes without someone buying, signing, or reorganizing something. Logitech today revealed the availability of Linux drivers for all of its digital game port products. These drivers are the first that have been written specifically for Logitech WingMan gaming devices in cooperation with Logitech engineering and that are based upon Logitech hardware specifications. The fact that Logitech worked directly with the author of the drivers, Vojtech Pavlik, ensures that the drivers are of high quality. In keeping with the spirit of Linux, the source code and documentation for the drivers is available free from Vojtech Pavlik’s web site.

For PC players, this is the kind of spec-sheet news that either matters immediately or becomes the thing everyone argues about once the drivers land. Either way, keep an eye on it.
