Matrox G200 OpenGL ICD Beta Released

The important bit: Matrox released the G200 OpenGL ICD Beta. The ICD Beta1 release offers support for six OpenGL-based games under Windows 98/95 including, Quake II, Quake, Half Life, Sin, Heretic II and Hexen II.

Matrox G200 OpenGL ICD Beta Released drops into the hardware pile today, which means another driver, card, audio update, or 3D oddity for those of us still fighting with Windows 95 and 98 boxes.

The important bit: Matrox released the G200 OpenGL ICD Beta. The ICD Beta1 release offers support for six OpenGL-based games under Windows 98/95 including, Quake II, Quake, Half Life, Sin, Heretic II and Hexen II. The ICD is stable but not yet optimized for performance.

Driver news is not glamorous, but when a card suddenly stops choking on a major game, nobody complains. This is the unsexy stuff that keeps the whole beige circus running.
