Microsoft and Immersion Collaborate on Feel-Simulation landed today, giving players another thing to circle on the calendar.

Microsoft and Immersion today announced they will share access to each other’s feel-simulation technology, also known as force feedback, which allows gamers to physically engage with game environments.

The two companies further indicated that they are working to standardize feel-simulation capabilities in the PC game and game device industry. Microsoft and Immersion will work together to give game and device developers a broader platform for creating and testing force-feedback-enabled gaming products.

PC hardware is moving stupid fast right now, and this is one more part of that arms race.
