Microsoft Opens Baseball 2001 Web Site

Microsoft launches the official Baseball 2001 site with screenshots, features, and a trial version planned for spring.

Microsoft has launched the official web site for Microsoft Baseball 2001, giving baseball fans the usual spread of screenshots, system requirements, news, and feature details. A downloadable trial version is planned for later this spring.

Baseball 2001 adds front-office management built on Baseball Mogul technology, letting players handle payroll, trades, and free agent signings instead of just swinging for the cheap seats. Nomar Garciaparra is on the box, and Thom Brennaman returns for commentary.

The game uses 1999 MLB stats and includes all 35 stadiums, including Pacific Bell Park, Comerica Park, Enron Field, and Miller Park. Microsoft expects the game in early April at $29.95, just in time for Opening Day. Somebody better tell the hot dogs to start smelling immersive.
