Ocarina of Time gets its first native iOS port with HarkinianPad

HarkinianPad is a free native iOS port of Ocarina of Time built on Ship of Harkinian by Chris Sotraidis, running at 60fps with widescreen and touch support.

HarkinianPad was announced on July 27, 2026, and is available on GitHub. Solo developer Chris Sotraidis built it on the Ship of Harkinian engine, filling the one gap in that project’s platform list: Apple mobile.

Ship of Harkinian was made possible by ZELDARET’s 2021 decompilation of Ocarina of Time to C source code. Sotraidis used OpenAI’s Codex to adapt that code as a native Arm64 application, with rendering through Apple’s Metal API. The result runs at 60fps with widescreen and full-screen support, a significant step up from the Nintendo 64 original’s 240p at 20fps. Controls work through touch input, Bluetooth controllers, mouse, and keyboard. Ship of Harkinian had already run on Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, and Wii U. iOS was the holdout.

HarkinianPad is free and open-source. You’ll need a legally obtained Ocarina of Time ROM, same as any Ship of Harkinian build. The port pulls graphics, music, and sound effects from that ROM at runtime.
