Dave Kirsch from id software updated his .plan announcing the release QuakeWorld v2.30. This version doesn’t introduce a lot of new features over 2.29 (the most notable is the packet loss meter on the scoreboard), but mostly consists of “behind the scenes” fixes from the 2.29 BETA.
Assuming that no major bugs show up in this 2.30 release, this will probably be the last QuakeWorld release.
Now the only real question is whether it earns shelf space, because PC gamers are getting buried in boxes this year.
