Monolith Productions announces the acquisition of Rage of Mages 2: Necromancer, the sequel to the innovative, Russian-developed RPG/strategy game, Rage of Mages, published by Monolith in October of 1998. Monolith will unleash Rage of Mages 2 onto retail shelves everywhere in Spring, 1999. Rage of Mages 2 enhances the tradition of its predecessor by combining the best elements of both role-playing and strategy games to create a unique gameplay style.

For January 1999, this is the business side of gaming doing what it always does: studios forming, publishers moving money around, lawsuits flying, and everyone promising the next big thing. Somewhere in that mess, players eventually get the games. Maybe.
