Shogo: Mobile Armor Division for BeOS puts another piece of PC gear into the September hardware pile, and 1999 is not exactly short on that right now.

Be Incorporated, developer of BeOS, the operating system designed for digital media applications and Internet appliances, and Monolith Productions, a leading interactive entertainment developer, today announced the development of Shogo: Mobile Armor Division for BeOS, an interactive computer game planned for release this year. Shogo: Mobile Armor Division provides an involving, action movie style single-player experience, where the player takes the role of Sanjiro Makabe, a security forces officer on the planet Cronos swept into a battle between terrorists and mega corporations. The result is an action-packed, first-person shooter game.

The hardware race is getting mean, and the upside is simple: gamers keep getting faster, stranger toys to bolt into their rigs.
