Here is the latest August 1998 note from the PC gaming front: Sin vs Half-Life Debate Log.

3dgaming.net had the Sin vs Half-Life debate last night on #3dgaming (irc.3dnet.net) which went much better than expected. After all of the complaints they got about comparing two unreleased games, the two debaters agreed that they were looking forward to both games, and that they shouldn’t be judged before they were out.
