Sonic Impact S90 announced

The hardware race keeps getting louder. Aureal Semiconductor said Diamond Multimedia has selected the Vortex audio processor for use in its new Sonic Impact S90 audio accelerator board. The Sonic Impact S90 priced at $49.95, represents Diamond’s entry-level audio solution for PCI-based computers and joins the Vortex 2-based Monster Sound MX 300 in Diamond’s audio product line.

It may not be the biggest story of the month, but Sonic Impact S90 is exactly the sort of thing PC players are tracking right now.
