The useful part: Blizzard Entertainment announced that in Korea it has recently topped the 1 million units sold mark in combined sales of StarCraft and its expansion pack StarCraft: Brood War, according to figures released by international sales partners. Currently, Blizzard has sold over 3 million copies of both games combined worldwide. Considering that Korea is a country of approximately 40 million in population and that by industry standards a successful game in Korea sells roughly 10,000-15,000 units, the StarCraft phenomenon in Korea is truly unprecedented. File it under the usual 1999 PC pile: interesting, crowded, and probably fighting five other releases for attention.
