Steven Bersch Named President of Fox Interactive is today’s business-side update, the sort of suit-and-spreadsheet news that still decides what games actually reach players.

The useful part: Fox Filmed Entertainment’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Bill Mechanic, to whom Bersch will report, made the announcement today. Fox Filmed Entertainment is an operating unit of the Fox Entertainment Group, a News Corporation company. Bersch said, “I’m thrilled by the opportunity to join the Fox Interactive team that my colleague Jon Richmond has built so successfully. I look forward to the challenge of developing new and exciting product based on our fantastic Fox and FOX Sports franchises, releasing the incredible properties already in development. File it under the usual 1999 PC pile: interesting, crowded, and probably fighting five other releases for attention.
