Stratego on the MSN Gaming Zone

Stratego on the MSN Gaming Zone hit the wire on October 29, 1998. Microsoft said that Stratego, the classic game of battlefield strategy, is available for free multiplayer matchmaking on the MSN Gaming Zone. In Stratego, by Hasbro Interactive, gamers take command of an army and weapons as they plan missions with one objective in mind, capturing their opponent's flag.

The game features superbly modeled and animated 3-D battles in ten different gameboard designs. With characters ranking from Scout to Marshal, players guard their flag behind of maze of soldiers. Each character is disguised as an innocent drummer boy marching across the gameboard, cautiously side-stepping hidden bombs. When engaged in battle, the characters morph into ranked toy soldiers for hand-to-hand combat.
