Star Wars: The Old Republic Is Now Free to Play

Star Wars: The Old Republic has gone free-to-play, opening all eight class storylines to level 50 at no cost, alongside the existing subscription option.

BioWare and LucasArts have flipped the switch: Star Wars: The Old Republic is now playable for free. The free tier lets you experience the complete story, up to level 50, across all eight classes, while the original subscription remains for players who prefer it. For anyone who skipped SWTOR at launch, there’s now no cost to find out whether its class stories live up to the hype.
