Atari and Digital Eclipse have announced Toy Story: Retro Roundup, a collection of classic Toy Story and Pixar games releasing October 15.
The collection covers 11 versions of six titles: Toy Story (1995), Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue (1999), Toy Story 2 for Game Boy Color (1999), Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (2000), Toy Story Racer (2001), and A Bug’s Life (1998). New features include Practice Mode, rewind, save states, Rex’s cheat codes, and improved resolutions, alongside development featurettes and a virtual museum. Digital editions are $24.99 each on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Switch, Switch 2, and PC. A physical double pack with Toy Story 3 Complete Edition runs $39.99 on PS5 and PS4, $49.99 on Switch 2.
Digital Eclipse has become the most credible studio working in this space. The studio previously handled The Disney Afternoon Collection and Disney Classic Games Collection, and the pattern here is the same: licensed games that would otherwise stay buried get treated as actual history worth preserving. Whether Toy Story games qualify as retro worth caring about is a fair debate. The SNES and Genesis versions are 30 years old. The answer is probably yes.
