Trident’s Blade 3D Turbo Graphics Chip Announced

The Blade 3D media accelerator is now available in a Turbo version. By taking advantage of new process technologies, the new device is clocked up to 135MHz compared to the original 110MHz.

By taking advantage of new process technologies, the new device is clocked up to 135MHz compared to the original 110MHz. The Blade 3D Turbo has raised the performance of an entry-level graphics controller to a new standard. The most recent Mercury Research Benchmark Results Survey dated May 10th gave Trident’s new Turbo a 516 3D WinBench 99, a 30% advantage over the Savage 3D. The new Turbo also scored a 186 on the 2D WinBench99, an edge higher than the Rage 128Turbo chip from ATI.
