Microsoft says Army Men II and Heroes of Might and Magic III, the latest releases from two immensely popular gaming series published by The 3DO Company, are now available for free multiplayer matchmaking on the MSN Gaming Zone.

With Army Men II, 3DO has brought a childhood fantasy to life, complete with toy tanks and airplanes that deploy paratroopers and bombs. On the Zone, gamers can play against each other on one of four different maps. Now it leaves the press-release fog and goes where it belongs: onto hard drives, store shelves, and multiplayer lobbies.
