Winamp 2.09 released

Winamp 2.09 has a new file out today, and PC gamers with itchy download fingers have something else to grab. Nullsoft has released Winamp 2.09. Winamp is a fast, flexible, high-fidelity music player. Winamp supports MP3, MP2, CD, MOD, WAV and other audio formats, custom interfaces called skins and audio visualization and audio effect plug-ins. It seems to be the most stable, best performing Winamp ever. The download package size has been reduced, as well. Part of this is because the decided not to bundle visualization or effect plug-ins with the distribution.

That is the bargain we keep making with PC gaming: more patches, more drivers, more tools, and hopefully a better game on the other side. Sometimes it fixes everything. Sometimes it just gives us a new version number to complain about.
