Windows 98 Second Edition Hits Store Shelves

Windows 98 Second Edition is at retail and on new Compaq, Dell, and HP PCs. Existing Windows 98 users can order an Updates CD-ROM from Microsoft.

Microsoft’s Windows 98 Second Edition is available now. The update folds current Internet, home networking, and hardware support into the operating system most of us are gaming on, and it is on shelves today at Best Buy, CompUSA, OfficeMax, Sam’s Club, and local retailers. Compaq, Dell, and Hewlett-Packard are already shipping it on their consumer PCs.

If you are running Windows 98 already, you do not need the boxed copy: Microsoft is offering a Windows 98 Second Edition Updates CD-ROM that existing customers can order from the Windows 98 web site.
