A great idea that barely makes it off the ground.
Air Force One add-on for MSFS 98 looks the part, sounds the part, but the only adventure mission is a broken mess that I couldn't finish.
About This Game

Air Force One is a third-party add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 that introduces a Boeing VC-25, the military variant of the 747, painted in the iconic livery of the presidential aircraft. The package includes a detailed interactive 3D cockpit featuring mouse-clickable switches and controls, along with a scripted adventure mission that challenges the player to transport the President to safety under time pressure. Accompanying the add-on is a substantial manual with cockpit schematics, airport diagrams, enroute charts, and approach plates. The add-on enhances the base simulator with new engine sounds, crew voice-overs, and custom air traffic control chatter. Released in 1999, Air Force One aimed to deliver a high-stakes flying experience but was marred by mission-breaking technical issues that left many players unable to complete the central adventure.

How to Play TodayYour options for running this game in 2026
Original Hardware
Requires Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 installed on a Windows 95/98 PC. The add-on shipped on CD or floppy with a straightforward installer. Original copies are scarce but occasionally surface on auction sites.
Emulation / Other Options
No modern digital re-release exists. To run the add-on today you must pair a working copy of MSFS 98 with the add-on disk on period hardware or inside a Windows 95/98 virtual machine. MSFS 98 itself struggles on modern operating systems without workarounds.
