POCG VERDICT
One ship, one life, and the best ten dollars you'll spend all year.
A simple premise, endless replayability, and permadeath that makes every jump count, FTL is an indie masterpiece.
About This Game

FTL: Faster Than Light is a spaceship roguelike from indie studio Subset Games. You command a single starship fleeing across randomly generated sectors, staying one jump ahead of a pursuing Rebel fleet while managing power, crew, and resources in real-time-with-pause combat. Every run is permadeath: lose your ship and you start over, but each restart spins up an entirely new galaxy. Funded on Kickstarter, it became a touchstone of the early-2010s indie boom.
