About This Game

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit is a 2012 action-platformer developed by the French studio Arkedo and published by SEGA, released on Windows, PlayStation 3 (PSN) and Xbox 360 (XBLA). The game stars Ash, the foul-tempered rabbit prince of Hell, who, enraged that embarrassing photos of him have leaked across the underworld's internet, sets out on a violent rampage to hunt down and kill the hundred monsters who saw them. Ash rides a drill-like 'Jetpack' vehicle that lets him burrow through destructible terrain, traverse sprawling, interconnected levels in a Metroidvania-flavoured structure, and tear enemies apart, with each of the hundred unique monsters dispatched via a comedic, mini-game-style execution. The presentation is loud, crude and cartoonish, leaning hard into irreverent humour, exaggerated gore and pop-culture parody. Players also collect weapons, upgrade their gear and manage a small island base. Critical reception was generally positive, praising the game's manic energy, inventive execution gags, sharp visuals and sense of style, while some found the action repetitive over its length. Hell Yeah! stands as a distinctive, gleefully juvenile entry in the downloadable action-platformer space of the early 2010s. Its blend of crude comedy and Metroidvania-flavoured action earned it a small but appreciative cult following.
