Persona 4
Persona 4 is a role-playing game developed and published by Atlus, originally released for the PlayStation 2 in 2008. Set in the rural Japanese town of Inaba, the story follows a high school transfer student who discovers that rumors about a mysterious television program called the Midnight Channel are connected to a series of murders. The protagonist and his friends gain the ability to enter a supernatural TV world, where they battle Shadows using Personas, manifestations of their inner selves. The game blends dungeon crawling with a deep social simulation that sees the player building relationships with classmates and townsfolk, each of which strengthens their combat abilities. An enhanced version, Persona 4 Golden, launched for the PlayStation Vita in 2012 and was later ported to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Persona 4 is widely considered one of the best entries in the Persona series and a standout RPG of the PS2 era.
