Py & Gity 2 – The Industrial Age
Py & Gity 2 - The Industrial Age is an arcade-style side-scrolling fighting game for MS-DOS, developed by Family Production, Inc. and published by Dungeon Crawl Software, a subdivision of Hartman Enterprises Limited, in 1999. The game is aimed at children and offers lighthearted beat-em-up action where the player controls one of three characters: Birdy (boyfriend of the kidnapped Rora), Py (a fox-like creature), and Gity (a green, bulbous-nosed fellow). The objective is to defeat waves of enemies across various stages, culminating in a boss fight at the end of each level. A unique feature is the ability to switch characters during gameplay, though this is not documented in the manual. After completing a stage, players enter a shop to purchase items, though the process is poorly explained. The game supports two players and uses simple keyboard controls. While the graphics are colorful and cartoonish, the backgrounds are composed of digitized photographs, creating an aesthetic mismatch. The game was distributed on CD-ROM and required MS-DOS 5.0 or higher, a 486DX processor, 4 MB of RAM, and a 4x CD-ROM drive. Though its simplistic design and incomplete manual drew criticism, the core gameplay was considered fun and accessible for younger audiences.
