About This Game
R-Type III: The Third Lightning is a horizontal shoot-em-up developed by Irem and released for the Super Nintendo in 1993. A direct sequel to R-Type II, it builds on the series' signature Force pod system and is widely regarded as one of the most demanding shmups on the platform. The game was directed by Kengo Miyata.
