About This Game

Sleepwalker's Journey is a 2012 puzzle-platformer developed and published by the Polish studio 11 bit studios, released on iOS, Android and later Windows. A gentle, family-friendly title from the team that would later make the acclaimed This War of Mine and Frostpunk, it follows Moonboy, a hapless sleepwalker who tumbles out of bed and wanders through a dreamlike, hazard-filled world, oblivious to the dangers around him. The player cannot control Moonboy directly; instead, much like in classic 'lemmings'-style and indirect-control games, they manipulate the environment, rotating platforms, activating contraptions, moving objects and clearing obstacles, to guide the ever-walking dreamer safely toward his bed at each level's end. The game pairs this puzzle-driven gameplay with a charming, hand-crafted visual style, soothing music and a whimsical, storybook atmosphere. Designed for touch controls, it offered accessible, satisfying puzzles suited to short mobile sessions. Reasonably well received, Sleepwalker's Journey was praised for its lovely presentation, relaxing tone and clever, well-paced puzzle design, regarded as a polished and endearing entry in the mobile puzzle-platformer space. POCG covered its reveal. It stands as an early, gentler example of the craft 11 bit studios would later apply to far darker and more ambitious projects. It offered an early, gentler glimpse of the craft 11 bit studios would later bring to This War of Mine and Frostpunk.
