POCG VERDICT
The story is the game. That turns out to be enough.
Telltale's Walking Dead is not a great adventure game mechanically, but it is one of the best pieces of interactive fiction ever made. Lee and Clementine are worth your twenty hours.
About This Game
The Walking Dead: Season One is a five-episode episodic adventure game developed by Telltale Games, released across 2012. Players take the role of Lee Everett, a convicted man who becomes the protector of a young girl named Clementine as the zombie apocalypse unfolds around them. Set in the world of Robert Kirkman's comic series, it runs parallel to rather than adapting the source material directly. The game was a commercial and critical breakthrough that proved episodic narrative gaming could carry a mainstream audience.
