POCG VERDICT
Runic Games makes a hack-and-slash that actually has something to say.
Torchlight II avoids the mind-numbing trap of the genre through smart loot, personality-filled NPCs, and random maps that keep each run fresh. One of the best dungeon crawlers of its era.
About This Game

Torchlight II is a 2012 action RPG dungeon crawler developed and published by Runic Games, sequel to the 2009 original. Players choose from four classes (Outlander, Embermage, Berserker, Engineer) and are accompanied by a customizable pet throughout. The game features peer-to-peer online multiplayer, random map generation, and an extensive mod support system via the Steam Workshop. Runic Games was co-founded by former Blizzard North developers, and composer Matt Uelmen previously scored the original Diablo series.
