Lethal Wedding Genesis Kickstarter hits goal, adds Bill Tiller and Team Fat stretch targets

Lethal Wedding, a new top-down co-op shooter for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive from Mega Cat Studios and publisher 8 Bit Legit, launched on Kickstarter on June 2, 2026, and hit its $15,000 goal in 90 minutes. The game is built explicitly in the mold of Zombies Ate My Neighbors: a bride and her mother-in-law fighting through 30-plus levels of criminal clowns to rescue a kidnapped groom, two-player couch co-op throughout, and a risk/reward Vow System layered over the shooting.

With the base goal cleared, Mega Cat Studios revealed its stretch targets, and the names attached are the real hook. At $45,000, LucasArts veteran Bill Tiller — the artist behind the background work in The Curse of Monkey Island and, relevantly, a hidden character in Zombies Ate My Neighbors itself — contributes exclusive key art. Physical edition backers can choose it as an alternate cover; Limited Edition backers get a poster. At $50,000, George “The Fatman” Sanger and Joe McDermott of Team Fat produce a deluxe OST CD. Sanger and McDermott worked on the Zombies Ate My Neighbors soundtrack, which makes their involvement something more than a celebrity cameo: these are the people whose music defined the template the game is chasing. The $60,000 through $80,000 tiers unlock Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation ports respectively, to be completed post-campaign.

Physical cartridge tiers are confirmed, including a standard Genesis/Mega Drive CIB and a Limited Edition variant with alternate artwork. The campaign is also available to wishlist on Steam. No final release date has been announced.
