Battlefield Vietnam
Battlefield Vietnam is a 2004 first-person shooter developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is the second main entry in the Battlefield series, shifting the setting from World War II to the Vietnam War. The game retains the series' signature large-scale combined arms combat, allowing players to fight on foot or take control of a variety of vehicles, including tanks, jeeps, helicopters, and jets, across vast jungle maps. Infantry classes offer distinct loadouts, from the flexible heavy gunner with an M60 and rockets to engineer and scout kits. A new radio chat system enables detailed battlefield communication. Server administration tools and PunkBuster anti-cheat are integrated from launch. While the single-player mode is populated by notoriously poor AI bots, the multiplayer component is the core experience, supporting up to 64 players in modes like Conquest, where teams compete to control capture points and deplete the enemy's tickets. The game features a licensed 1960s soundtrack, dynamic doppler-shifted audio, and a dense jungle environment rendered with custom undergrowth and overgrowth technology.
