Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault
Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault is a first-person shooter set in the Pacific theater of World War II, developed by EA Los Angeles and published by Electronic Arts in 2004. It follows the series tradition of placing the player in the boots of a soldier within a small squad, this time focusing on the U.S. Marine Corps' island-hopping campaign. The game introduces a persistent corpsman mechanic that lets the player call for healing, a more deliberate weapon handling model, and a story-driven single-player campaign that opens with the attack on Pearl Harbor. Multiplayer includes objective-based modes and deathmatch, though it was plagued by authentication and performance issues at launch. The visuals pushed DirectX 9 hardware, featuring detailed jungle environments, dynamic scarring on character models, and extensive post-processing effects.
